ThanksGiving
And, things I'm Thankful for!
I'm thinking about the Thanksgiving season today, and would
like to share with you some of the things that I am
personally thankful to God for. And, some of the things
that we can all give thanks to Him for.
I am very thankful to our LORD for blessing me with: A
very good church home, where I can worship the LORD,
hear and be taught from God's living word, and have
fellowship with family and friends.
I give thanks for my wife of many years, Thresa, whom I
love. And all the blessings God has heaped upon us over the
years.
I'm grateful for my two grown children, David and Sheila.
And two precious grand children, who I love very much.
I have been blessed with a wonderful and loving Seeing Eye
dog named Orbit WHO DOES A VERY GOOD JOB OF watching out for, AND guiding me.
I am also very thankful to have been born and lived for
these many happy years here in America. where, at the
present, I still have the freedum to openly worship the
one living and true God.
I'm Grateful to our LORD for a warm place to live on this
cold and windy day. For warm clothing to ware and good
food to eat.
God has blessed Thresa and I through out this past year in
many many wonderful and generous ways.
We have been able to make some much needed repairs to our
house. Such as having major work done on our foundation and bathroom. And make other necessary repairs. and, we
were also able to have our patio screened in to keep out
the Bugs.
I give thanks to God and praise and worship Him for
creating and giving us life to begin with. For creating
and placing us on such a beautiful world. For all of the
wonderful trees, plants, flowers, grasses and many other
types of vegetation all over the Earth, that are such a
grate blessing to us as Human beings and to all the many
different kinds of animals, Birds and Fish that God has
also created and blessed us with.
Most of all, I praise and give thanks to God for Him self.
For being a perfect, Holy, Gracious, Merciful and extremely
loving and forgiving God!
For allowing His Son Jesus to voluntarily come down to the
Earth from Heaven, to bring us the good news of the Gospel
And, to offer Himself as a ransom on the cross for our
sins.
And to Jesus for suffering the torture and shame of the
cross, and shedding His blood to pay for the sins of all
Humanity.
Jesus said of His father, (God) and Himself:
"God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world
to condemn the world; but that the world through him might
be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but
he that believeth not is condemned already, because he
hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of
God."
So, we can give thanks to God for giving His Son Jesus that
we might have ever lasting life through Jesus payment on
the cross at Calvary, for our sins. God offers us
everlasting life through Jesus His Son as a gift. And we
can receive this gift of everlasting life by acknowledging
to God, According to God’s own perfect standards, that we
have sinned. Turning from our sin with God’s help, And by
putting our trust in Jesus as our savior. By doing this,
we except the gift of ever lasting life that God
graciously offers us, because of His grate and merciful
love for us.
The Bible says in: Ephesians, Chapter 2: Verses 8-9
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest
any man should boast."
What grater things can we give thanks for in the
Thanksgiving season, than all the things that God has given
us? Life it self, food, clothing and shelter. Our familys
and friends. And the gratest gift of all, the offer of the
gift of eternal life, through faith in Jesus Christ our
LORD.
So I ask you to join me this year in taking a few minutes
to think of all the things that God has blessed you with.
Lets not just think of Thanksgiving as an extra day off,
but as the day that the leaders of our nation of America
set aside for us to specifically think of, and offer
thanks to God for all He has blessed us with since last
Thanksgiving. You don't have to say it in some fancy
words. Just think of some specific things like I have, and
then mention them specifically and thank the giver, God,
for them.
I certainly give thanks to our living LORD for each of you
who are reading this, and for all of our fellow man and
woman through out all of America and all the world. And
for my own family, and the many blessings He has blessed
us all with!
I sincerely wish you and your family,
a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!
1 O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his
mercy endureth for ever.
2 O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy
endureth for ever.
3 O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy
endureth for ever. Psalm 136:1-3
